TMS students to lace up sneakers Oct. 5
On October 5, 2011, students across the country will pull on their sneakers and join together in Walk to School Day, which is designed to encourage a more walkable America – one community at a time.
In 2010, more than 3,550 schools from all 50 states participated, and this year’s totals are expected to reach new records. The event has grown steadily since it began in 1997, when the Partnership for a Walkable America sponsored the first National Walk Our Children to School Day in Chicago.
