Debris comes with hefty price tag
Nearly four months have passed since the Great Flood of 2011 poured out its wrath on many communities along the Mississippi River, including the Tunica Cut-off.
While many former Cut-off residents have moved on to take up residences elsewhere, dozens more are still trying to put their lives back together, removing tons of debris from what once were their homes. Consequently, officials are projecting the total cost of cleanup from the flood to total into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
