Tunica plays part in Oct. 11 raid in Arkansas
Paul Battle Arena & Exposition Center in Tunica served as the staging area for a massive raid by federal, state and local law enforcement in Helena-West Helena, AR Tuesday.
Eight hundred state and federal officers, including the FBI and Arkansas’ Eastern District U.S. Attorney’s office, arrested 51 people in a sweep that started at 4 a.m. on October 11. Last week, a federal grand jury handed down seven indictments of 70 people, including five law enforcement officers, for charges ranging from public corruption and drug trafficking to money laundering. Fourteen individuals remained at large at presstime.
