On the Doorstep: Fifty years later, ‘Mockingbird’ still resonates
It was a quiet night at home–the hubby was gone and it was still scorching hot at seven o’clock, so a good movie seemed in order.
And Turner Classics was showing “To Kill A Mockingbird.” Perfect!
It had been years since I had the luxury of watching this film straight through. Occasionally I had flipped through the channels and caught a scene here, a smidgen there. But there’s something about going from opening credits to “The End” that is almost as satisfying as sitting in a cool movie theater.
This particular TCM offering even had no distracting commercials.
To say that I had forgotten the impact of “Mockingbird” is understatement of the first order.
