Towers named CCC teacher of the year
Transforming six college singers into today’s 65-voice concert choir earning standing ovations at the FedEx Forum, Oxford’s Gertrude Ford Center, and the Black Congressional Caucus in Washington, D.C. is nothing short of magical.
And Kelvin Towers, the magician who accomplished this feat in nine short years as chairman of Coahoma Community College’s Music Department, has been named CCC’s Outstanding Humanities Teacher of the Year.
He will be honored at a 2 p.m. presentation Thursday, Nov. 17, in the Pinnacle and will talk about “The Importance of Music Education in Society.” The public is invited to attend.
