Meet Your Elected Officials: Chandler ready for reins of school district
One week after getting the nod from Tunica County voters, a former student and teacher is already anxious to return to Tunica County Schools. This time, he won’t just be leading a classroom. He’ll be the head of the entire district.
In January, Steve Chandler will take office as the Superintendent of Education. He succeeds longtime head Jerry Gentry Sr.
Chandler, who is filled with ideas and hope, said the district has a major strength he and his team will be building on.
