Meet Your Elected Officials: Linzy ready to set “tone of leadership”
Looking back at her early childhood, Louise Linzy remembers the hardships she, her mother and grandparents faced living in poverty in rural Tunica County.
At their home near Commerce, there wasn’t an indoor toilet or running water, and times were not easy for her family.
Her mother had left Linzy’s birthplace of Chicago and moved back to her own home of Tunica to live with her parents. Her grandmother worked at Tunica’s largest industry at the time, Pillowtex, and her grandfather worked as a mechanic, fixing cars for a living.
