Chandler joins NWCC Trustees
Northwest Mississippi Community College President, Dr. Gary Lee Spears, welcomed five new members to the Board of Trustees at their regular January meeting held Thursday, Jan. 12.
Brenda Hopson joins the board as the newly-elected Quitman County School District superintendent of education, filling the vacant seat of retired trustee Dr. Valmadge Towner. A graduate of Jackson State University and The University of Mississippi, Hopson has 22 years in the field of education. She has served as an elementary and middle school teacher and as an elementary, middle school and high school principal. According to Hopson, she is proud to be a part of the progressive learning community. She is married to David Armstrong, and they have one son, Tyler, who is 9 years old.
