Democratic party prepares for caucuses
Mississippi Democrats in all eighty-two counties are making preparations to conduct precinct caucuses at voting precincts around the state on February 18. Mississippi’s Democratic precinct caucuses are the first step in the process through which new party leaders and national convention delegates are elected.
At precinct-level meetings held at the state’s 1876 voting precincts at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 18, Democrats will elect delegates to attend county conventions. The March 10 county conventions will elect county Democratic executive committees to serve as county party leaders for the next four years.
