Tunica County receives disaster designation
“Emergency loans for farmers, ranchers, and operators are available through the Coahoma County Office of the Farm Service Agency,” David R. Durham, Acting FSA Farm Loan Manager, said recently.
According to Durham , this authority is pursuant to a declaration on February 3, 2012, of a major disaster in Arkansas caused by high winds, hail, and tornadoes that occurred on January 22, 2012. Tunica County is contiguous to the primary natural disaster area. Therefore, it has been designated eligible for Federal Disaster assistance pursuant to Section 321 (a) of the Consolidated Farm and Rural Development Act.
