Rivergate gears up for 20th anniversary
The Tunica Rivergate Festival, which started out as a small gathering of locals and evolved into a full-blown Memphis In May-sanctioned barbecue contest before returning to its local roots, will celebrate its 20th anniversary later this month.
The festival, which takes place in – and bears the name of – downtown Tunica’s Rivergate Park, is the county’s longest-running community event.
This year’s festival is slated for April 20 and 21, and organizers are anticipating a great event to commemorate the festival’s twentieth year.
