Council issues call for artists
The Mississippi Delta has long been described as the epitome of Southern culture and one of the most colorful places on Earth. It is the birthplace of many noted authors, musicians, and artisans. Tunica, which sits atop the world famous region, is no exception. In an effort to harness some local creativity, the Tunica Arts Council is in the fledgling stages.
Since January, a small group of interested individuals has been meeting to discuss Tunica and its artistic talents. They have developed a mission “to foster and support the growth and development of the arts in our community.”
