Volunteer Northwest Mississippi will honor recipients of the 2012 President’s Volunteer Service Awards on May 1, 2012 at a dinner to be held at the Gale Center, 2601 Elm Street, Hernando, Mississippi. The public is invited to attend this event to support our wonderful volunteers.  Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased through the Community Foundation no later than April 19, 2012.  
The awards are made possible through The President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation established in 2003 to recognize the valuable contributions volunteers are making in our communities and encourage more people to serve.  The Council created the President’s Volunteer Service Award program as a way to thank and honor Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service.
