Board retains current health insurance
Insurance for county employees again made its way to the Board of Supervisors’ agenda and brought personnel to the meeting on June 29.
The board opted to continue coverage by Cigna, with Velvet Bass as the agent of record. Beat 4 Supervisor Henry Nickson offered a motion to make Nick Floyd and Associates the agent of record for Cigna, but action on the initial motion to leave Bass as the agent lead to no action on Nickson’s proposal.
Nickson said he was disappointed with how the matter had been handled.
He stressed that the Tunica County employee handbook highlights a chain of command for employees to follow and that it had been ignored. He alleged that false information had been distributed by employees, while they were on Tunica County time and that actions were “disrespectful.”
