Northwest student fights through illness to obtain GED
Crenshaw native Tommy Buford is the kind of guy who likes to do things for himself. He says he rarely asks for help, unless he really needs it. Over the past couple of years, he has had two strokes and a heart attack triggered by seizures that doctors are still trying to diagnose. In the midst of all these struggles, Buford managed to pass his GED through Northwest Mississippi Community College, and is currently completing the process for admission to Northwest. Buford, who now lives in Oxford, hopes to attend college on the Oxford campus.
