Tax increase will be felt by all
After seeing the notice in the paper last week for a proposed tax increase in Tunica County, it was stunning to calculate the proposed increase is nearly 30 percent.
Quoting the notice in last week’s newspaper,
“ For next fiscal year, the Tunica County Board of Supervisors plans to increase your ad valorem tax millage rate by 15.83 mills from 53.74 mills to 69.57 mills. This increase means you will pay more in ad valorem taxes on your home, automobile tag, utilities, business fixtures and equipment and rental real property.”
