CVB hosts leg of blues music celebration
The Tunica Convention and Visitors Bureau on Wednesday hosted an evening of music as part of a week-long celebration of the Blues that spanned the Mississippi Delta and two other states.
For its part of the “Bridging the Blues” music event, Tunica hosted a performance by Clarksdale’s own James “Super Chikan” Johnson on the platform of the recently-completed Tunica Visitors Center.
“The purpose was to create a series of blues-related events for a nearly two-week period so any visitor in the Delta region is guaranteed to have the opportunity to hear live blues somewhere in the Delta on each day throughout this period,” said Webster Franklin, president of the Tunica Convention and Visitors Bureau.
