Local Walk to School successful
Schools in the Tunica County School District participated in the International Walk to School Day on Oct. 3, 2012.
Approximately 187 students from Dundee Elementary walked to school along with parents, teachers and administrators. They began a half a mile from campus at Sledge Park, arriving safely at school at 7:45.
Tunica Elementary officials began at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Tunica and continued up School Street to their campus.
The Tunica County Sheriff’s Department was in place at Dundee and the Tunica Police Department assisted in Tunica to ensure safety for both events.
