Locals enjoy sights, sounds of historic city
At 6 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, a group of travelers met at Richard Fullilove’s house to leave for Memphis International Airport. The group boarded a Delta Airlines plane and headed for Washington, D.C. around 8:30 a.m. The plane landed in Washington around 11:30 a.m.
The group rode the Metro to the Embassy Suites Hotel located at Chevy Chase Pavilion. While in Washington, the group toured the Smithsonian, the Spy Museum, Arlington National Cemetery, the Holocaust Museum, Mt. Vernon, the Supreme Court, the White House and the National Museum of Art.
