Editorial: Boring Budgets
August is always an important time of the year – both because school goes back in session and also because the school district, the town and the county all set spending priorities for the next budget year.
Last year, Tunica County put a significant tax increase in place. This year, the school board may ask the county to assess more millage to produce more tax money. And the Town of Tunica continues to look for more ways to tighten its belt.
