Schools slump in ‘13 ratings
Friday the 13th proved to be especially unlucky for the Tunica County School District, as the Mississippi Department of Education issued a failing grade to two public schools and the district as a whole last week in its 2013 accountability report.
Tunica Elementary earned an F grade for the second straight year, one of 50 in the state that are in danger of having their entire staff dismissed and replaced by the state. This drastic measure occurs when a school receives an F grade for three years in a row.
