Disaster loan applications available at local FSA
“Emergency loans for farmers, ranchers, and operators are available through the Tunica County Office of the Farm Service Agency,” David Durham, FSA Farm Loan Manager, said today.
According to Durham, this authority is pursuant to Secretary Vilsack’s declaration on December 11, 2013, of a major disaster in Mississippi caused by excessive rainfall and cooler than normal temperatures that occurred from March 1 through July 31, 2013. As a result, Tunica County has been designated a primary natural disaster area eligible for Federal Disaster assistance pursuant to Section 321 (a) of the Consolidated Farm and Rural Development Act. Applications for assistance in the disaster-stricken county will be accepted by FSA through August 11, 2014.
