Town proposes $5 million budget
Officials with the Town of Tunica have proposed a budget of just over $5 million, down approximately $200,000 from last year’s projections.
Mayor Chuck Cariker attributes the reduction to the downward cycle in gaming revenue.
“Last year, we used $3 million as our number for gaming revenue. This year, we’ve lowered that to $2.8 million,” Cariker said.
In 2006, the gaming revenue projected by the Town was $3.9 million.
