Morgan tapped as CCC’s football coach
On Monday afternoon during a press conference held in the Vivian M. Presley Administration Building, Coahoma Community College announced that their next football coach would be former UCLA Bruins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive lineman Karl Morgan.
The former NFL defensive tackle has 20-plus years of coaching experience, most recently as the head coach at Mississippi Valley State. Morgan will take the reins from Coach Freeman Horton, who had led the program since 2001.
“One thing I can promise you, I will give you 100 percent every day that I am here,” Morgan told the crowd of alumni, media and community members present. “I was excited about the motivation to win here, I could feel that everyone here is serious about turning this program around and I’m glad to be able to be a part of that.”
