TA students get inside look at manufacturer
On Friday February 14, the Tunica Academy General Business class and the Economics class went on a field trip to visit Schulz Xtruded Products pipe plant in Robinsonville, Mississippi. The students wanted to learn about the business and how it affected growth in Tunica County. These students were the first group ever to have the opportunity to tour the plant. It was very exciting for all involved. Evelyn McLean, their teacher, promised a fun and interesting trip to the pipe plant and she did not disappoint.
For over 65 years, industries around the globe have come to rely on the Schulz Group of Companies for all their pipe and fittings needs. A man named Wilhelm Schulz originally started the plant in Germany, but it now has locations all over the world. The plant in Tunica is the only SXP manufacturing plant in North America.
