Critical access hospital identified as top priority
Findings from a health needs assessment in Tunica County were presented Tuesday, June 3, at the Tunica Museum.
The Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi and the Tunica County Health Council combined to organize a local focus group to identify the current health status and health needs of Tunica Countians and to make recommendations.
The 11-member focus group, which met during the month of March, was assisted by Allison Ford-Wade, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Health Promotion at the University of Mississippi; Catherine Woodyard, Ph.D., executive director of Tallahatchie Wellness in Charleston, MS; and Stacye Rawlings, Regional Health Director, CFNM. Dr. Ford-Wade presented the findings to a small audience during an hour-long presentation last week.
