Cookin' with The Columns: A great snack for a road trip
Our family has always loved to travel and we have been lots of places in the US and in Europe. One time when Heather and Jonathan were little kids, we went to St. Louis on vacation. There are lots of free or inexpensive things to see and do there. In fact, they never realized that there was a Six Flags in St. Louis because we found so many other fun places to visit. One of our favorite places was Purina Farms. It was such a hands-on facility with cows to milk and horses to feed and dog and cat shows. They loved it! Last week I made “puppy chow” which is one of our favorite snacks. When I went to the store to buy the ingredients, it took me longer than usual to get what I needed. When I finally got back home, Charles asked me if I had gone all the way to Purina Farms to get the ingredients! So now you too can make your own puppy chow. It’s a delicious snack that is always fun at a party because it looks a lot like the real thing.
