2011 holds promise
Despite a national economy that is still lagging, Tunica County has reason for optimism as the year 2011 opens.
The local casino and tourism industry has taken its licks, certainly, but all nine casino resorts have the doors open and a new development on the site of the former Isle of Capri is moving ahead, according to principals. Construction has begun on the Gateway to the Blues Museum and Visitors Center, and airport traffic is holding steady.
