MS Blood Services experiences shortage
The worst winter weather in recorded American history. Mississippi, while spared the major blizzards and snowstorms that have struck most of the country, has not gone unscathed. One tornado and two icy weather conditions have shut down schools, businesses and made travel hazardous.
Mississippi Blood Services understand the need for blood drives and appointments to be cancelled during this kind of weather. They would like their blood donors to continue to be donors and not recipients. However, the need for blood doesn’t stop because of foul weather. So we are asking all of the donors to please reschedule their appointments when the icy conditions abate. They are asking those organizations that have had to cancel blood drives to set up new dates and times at their earliest convenience. They ask those who have never given blood to please consider doing so now.
