Minister's Moment: Hungering and Thirsting
Hungering and Thirsting
Matthew 5:1-12
Most of us don’t know what it’s like to be starving. We use the word a lot. If it’s mid-afternoon and we haven’t eaten since breakfast we say, “I’m starving! Let’s get something to eat.”—but that isn’t really starving. Starving is when we haven’t eaten in several days and can’t get anything to eat, either because there is nothing to eat or because we can’t afford to buy food. Most of us have never been in that position.
