Lions stay in the hunt for a state title
The Rosa Fort Lions ran into stormy weather Monday night at Senatobia, but it wasn’t five inches of snow like last week.
After weather delayed the finals of the district tournament until Monday, the Lions played Byhalia on Saturday, winning 89-53, then had to quickly gear up for the District #2 Warriors.
And the Valentine’s Day shootout was all it promised, with the game going into triple overtime before Senatobia pulled out a 79-76 win.
The Warriors jumped out to a 18-12 lead in the first period and held on to take a 32-25 lead into the half. But the Lions came out firing after the break and outscored the Warriors 10-7 and 20-16 in the final two quarters, leaving the game tied up at 55-55 at the end of regulation play.
