Board seeks Rx for clinics

Healthcare in Tunica County could undergo reconstructive surgery in the near future, but who will be operating is yet to be determined.

In separate appointments with the Tunica County Board of Supervisors of Nov. 7, Denise Pratt and Gene Osbourne of the Tunica County Healthcare Authority discussed plans for the Tunica and Tunica Resorts clinics. Supervisors tabled a decision until their next meeting, which is set for Nov. 21.

Pratt said she had been reviewing data related to the clinics and could help them become profitable.

Open House, Veterans Day program next week

Major Lee Greco of the Mississippi National Guard’s 198th Armored Regiment in Senatobia will give the keynote address of the annual Veterans Day program in downtown Tunica next week.

The program will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 11, in the Veterans Memorial Park.

Maj. Greco is currently serving as the Executive Officer for his unit. He started his military career in 2002 and has since served overseas twice, earning a Bronze Star and several other medals. He was promoted to the rank of Major in 2012.

Lady Lions aiming to pick up game pace

Rosa Fort High School Lady Lions fell to Aggie during their first game at home on Saturday, Dec. 5.  The Lady Lion were hoping to end their losing streak.  Their record is now 1-4.

The ladies looked strong early in the game and ended the first period 16-12 at the buzzer.  During the second period, the scoreboard shifted deeply as Aggie put up 20 while the Lady Lions only added 6.  Aggie had a 10-point over the Lady Lions at the halftime break, but the Lady Lions held tight in the third and fourth periods putting up 35 while Aggie also put up 35.  Ultimately, Aggie beat the Lady Lions in the second period, as the final score was 57-67.
